BS Christian Missions

Campbellsville University’s Bachelor of Science (or BS) in Christian Missions comprises a historical, spiritual, and practical education in missionary work.

Using the missions as a focal point, the curriculum spans theology, anthropology, and global outreach. With the Christian missions degree, we hope to prepare missionaries who spread positive change with the Word of God.

Admission requirements

GPA: 2.0 (4.0 scale)

(English proficiency tests are for students that don’t have English as their first language)

The admissions team will accept SAT or EPT (English Proficiency test) for admission. We do not need both to be admitted to the university.

Christian Studies Core Requirements

While each program of study has its own focus, each student will build a foundation of Biblical, theological, historical, pastoral, educational, and practical aspects for Christian ministry. Students pursuing a theology area, major, or minor should take the General Education Prerequisites.

  • CHS Upper Level Old or New Testament Course

Christian Missions Area Requirements

  • Missions Methods and Strategies
  • Cultural Geography and Anthropology

Christian Missions Area Elective

  • Introduction to Sports Ministry
  • Pastoral Care and Counseling
  • Missions Mobilization & Preparation
  • Special Topics
  • Growing a Healthy Church
  • Sociology of Religion
  • Special Topics: Global Outreach in Practice

Specialty Area

Students must choose an area of specialty that will be beneficial to them on the mission field. Examples of specialty areas may include: TESOL certification, Foreign Language, Social Work, Music, other Theological studies from the above courses to fulfill these 9 hours. Students must have advisor approval.
