Study at California State University, Dominguez Hills

Welcome to California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) in South Los Angeles, California. Our institution has SMART classrooms, new sports facilities, and a 1-million square meter campus. International students can join our Study Abroad America program for one or two semesters. You are welcome here!

CSUDH Degrees and Programs

CSUDH offers over 60 undergraduate (Bachelor's) and graduate (Master's) degrees in five different colleges:

  • College of Arts & Humanities
  • College of Business & Public Policy
  • College of Education
  • College of Natural & Behavioral Science
  • College of Health, Human Services & Nursing

Study for One or Two Semesters

In addition to degree programs, you can study here for one or two semesters in the Study Abroad America program. Each semester is 16 weeks long, and the school year begins in August and ends in May:

  • Fall, Semester 1: Late August to Mid-December
  • Spring, Semester 2: Late January to late May

International students can sign up for Fall, Spring, or both semesters.

Los Angeles Location

CSUDH is in the city of Carson, in the center of Los Angeles County. Famous places are less than a 30-minute drive, including:

  • LAX International Airport, 20 minutes away
  • Downtown Los Angeles, 25 minutes away
  • Beaches, 20-30 minutes away
  • Hollywood, 30 minutes away
  • Disneyland, 30 minutes away
  • Long Beach, 15 minutes away
  • Mountains, 1 hour away

These popular locations are also a driving distance from CSUDH:

  • Palm Springs, 1.5 hours away
  • San Diego, 2 hours away
  • Santa Barbara, 2 hours away
  • Las Vegas, 4 hours away
  • Yosemite National Park, 5 hours away
  • San Francisco, 6 hours away

Life at CSUDH

At CSUDH, we have over 100 student groups for you to join. Work out at our gym or attend an event at our art gallery, theater, or soccer stadium.

If you love soccer, you will love CSUDH. The Dignity Health Sports Complex, home of the LA Galaxy soccer team, offers tickets and sports and business internships! 

Application Deadlines

  • May 1: Start in Fall semester, Semester 1
  • October 1: Start in Spring semester, Semester 2

Scholarships and Costs

EdSmart lists CSUDH as the second most affordable Californian university in 2021-2022. At CSUDH, international degree-seeking students pay US $36,000 to $38,000 per year. There are limited scholarships available for degree-seeking international students.

International Student Fees, Tuition, and Health Insurance

Undergraduate (Bachelor's degree) international students pay US $17,943 per year, and graduate (Master's degree) international students pay approximately US $16,209 per year.

Books and Living Expenses

In addition, living expenses (including housing and food) are estimated at US $2,043 per month, and books may cost up to US $1,900 per year.

Study Abroad America Program Fees

Study Abroad America students are not degree-seeking and study at CSUDH for one to two semesters. Each semester costs approximately US $12,600.

Scholarships for international students

At CSUDH, there are limited scholarships available for degree-seeking international students (not Study Abroad America), including:

  • International Studies Scholarship ($500, awarded to one student per year)
  • Stanley Prep CSUDH International Endowed Scholarship (up to $1,000, awarded once per year)

As an international students, we always worry not only about the instructors but more of the staff who works at the international student office.
