Program description

Multimedia Journalism With Foundation Year

Wrongful convictions. Hacking of elections. War crimes. When the usual systems fail, journalists are there to uncover injustices and enlighten the world. But whether you have big ambitions to preserve society’s freedom, or simply want to update people on local events, you’ll need to learn the skills to get your message across.

We developed this course to give you a wide range of practical skills in researching, writing and producing content for print, online and broadcast. With real-life scenarios and industry-standard equipment, you’ll learn how to apply your new knowledge to the working world.

  • Learn about politics, business, economics, fashion, health, entertainment, sport – and plenty more
  • Explore a range of specialisms to help you find the right career path
  • A very practical curriculum means you can build up your portfolio to boost your chances of finding your dream job
  • Study journalism from an academic point of view to really understand its place in society

The Foundation Year will allow you to develop your academic study skills and build confidence in your abilities, identifying your own strengths and development needs for progression onto an undergraduate degree.

While the Foundation Year is taught at High Wycombe or our Aylesbury Campus all subsequent years will be taught at our High Wycombe Campus.
