Program description

About the course

The MSc Psychological Sciences conversion course provides a Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) in Psychology, as conferred by the British Psychological Society (BPS). This is an entry requirement for all postgraduate training programmes leading to chartered status and the vast majority of postgraduate programmes accredited by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) for registration as a practitioner psychologist.
The course will also provide you with the skills to further advance your study with a PhD, ClinPsyD or DEdPsy.

Special features

A wide range of options are available for students to pursue their own particular interests (culminating in the dissertation).

Teaching and learning

Your coursework will include statistics, assignments, written research methods tests and laboratory reports to help develop your analytical skills. You will be assigned a supervisor who will support you throughout the process of writing your dissertation.

Many of our graduates work with UK and international government and non-governmental agencies, health and healthcare organisations. Some students have subsequently undertaken PhD degrees while others have pursued careers in business and the commercial sector, youth work or management.
