About this program

Founded in 1953, The School of Automation is one of the oldest departments of Automatic Control in China. The masters program in Control Science and Technology was ranked 9th in 2012 national program rankings. BIT students work with renowned faculty, among them are Professor Wang Shunting, the member of Chinese Academy of Science, Professor Fu Mengyin, Professor Chen Jie, and Professor Xia Yuanqing, and other reputed educators.

BIT achieves many national key research results and receives annual research funding of more than 150 million. A number of outstanding alumni contribute to the world social and scientific development with their wisdom and strength, among them Mr. Zeng Qinghong, the former Vice President of China, and Generals Mr. Hao Yan and Mr. Shang Xuekun.

On the 41st Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions, autonomous spherical wheel robots, smart spotlight servo system and vibration type self tracking micro robot invented by BIT students won two gold medals and one silver medal. At the graduate level, BIT students reach a level of expertise in the field of control engineering and power electronics, and be well-prepared to conduct scientific research and engineering practices in related area.

BIT is actively dedicated to international education and has established steady cooperative relations with many universities, research institutes and industries in countries such as the USA, Germany, Japan, UK, Russia, Australia and Pakistan. Successful cooperation has been performed in multiple academic exchanges, personnel training, and scientific research.
