This course enables students to direct their personal interests as a 3D Designer with specialist skills in a broad range of materials and techniques. Students may develop their practice in the contemporary crafts of jewellery, ceramics and glass, or in the industrial design disciplines of product design, furniture design or model making. Practical skill development is underpinned with professional studies as well as contextual studies that introduce students to contemporary 3D Design practice and fine art theory.

A programme of lectures, guest speakers, external trips, work experience, competition briefs, exhibitions and an overseas trip, enhance cultural knowledge, allow students to gain real world experience and enhance their CV. Students will build a professional quality portfolio to support their progression to further study or into employment or self-employment.

All Tutors on the course are practising Artists and Designers with high levels of expertise and subject knowledge as well as extensive teaching experience. Our workshop facilities provide industrial standard machinery and equipment, hand tools, and digital technologies for laser cutting and 3D rendering.
