Underpinned by the latest development in women’s health, midwifery and maternity care, this exciting new program will be of interest to qualified midwives.
This program will challenge midwives to critically examine how they can work to optimise the childbirth experience of all women. There is a strong focus on the autonomous role of the midwife and how improvements in public health promotion, the provision of evidence based information and effectively supporting women’s decision making work together to optimise the childbirth experience.

The program offers a flexible learning approach that aims to:
- Provide students with a rigorous framework for the development and synthesis of critical knowledge and skills to optimise the childbirth experience for women and their families.
- Facilitate students to further explore the public health role of the midwife in order to promote and maximise physiological birth.
- Develop the student’s understanding of research approaches within health and social care.
