Program description

Study a BA in Live Performance in South Africa

The BA degree in Live Performance is a full-time 3 year program that contains screen acting, stage acting and musical performance. Throughout the program students are encouraged to explore different disciplines and to pursue and specialize in their strongest areas.

Outcomes in the BA degree include:

  • short films
  • television promos
  • productions
  • stage production
  • music performance show depending on discipline selection.

Admission requirements

Applicants wishing to enter the BA in live performance program should meet the following requirements:

  • National Senior Certificate (matric) or National Certificate (Vocational) with exemption/admission to bachelor's degree, or equivalent OR the student may write an entrance exam at AFDA (View RPL Process). The AFDA Entrance Exam is a selection process approved by AFDA Senate for degree access. To give a candidate alternative access to degree one can sit for the entrance exam
