Program description

Associate of Science in Radiography

Students that study radiography at AHU reap the benefits of our program lab, equipped with an energized x-ray machine, computer technology, and plasma screens perfect for displaying clinical case studies, all integrated to enhance laboratory instruction. A variety of clinical rotations throughout hospitals and independent imaging centers allows students to interface with the latest technology and prepare for their future careers. All faculty members of the A.S. Radiography Program are certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography, with some further specializations in advanced modalities such as Mammography, Computed Tomography, and Quality Assurance.

Radiographers are highly skilled professionals qualified to apply ionizing radiation demonstrating portions of the human body to assist physicians in diagnosing disease and injury. Radiographers who perform imaging examinations are responsible for accurately positioning patients, ensuring that a quality diagnostic image is produced. With advances in medical technology, radiographers are prepared to use digital imaging equipment to enhance image quality and facilitate rapid diagnosis.
