The MSc in Structural Engineering aims to train professionals with advanced knowledge, capable of operating in all areas of structural engineering, including analysis, design, management, and maintenance of civil structures and infrastructures.

Study programme aim is to educate a highly qualified structural engineer for engineering activity, creative decision-making, complicated problems of designing solving, behavior assessing and strengthening of building structures.

A wide spectrum of modules are presented in the discipline of structural engineering, including analytical subjects such as structural analysis and structural mechanics, as well as design courses in reinforced concrete, steel and timber. The research in the discipline currently focuses on advanced structural analysis and structural reliability, reinforced concrete, structural steel and structural timber.

The society in which we live today is fundamentally dependent on the structures that structural engineers design and deliver. This Master of Engineering (Civil: Structural), therefore, addresses the specific core competencies and associated underpinning knowledge required of structural engineers.

The purpose of the MEng in Structural Engineering is to develop an engineer with advanced abilities in applying fundamental structural engineering sciences, design, and synthesis to specific structural engineering problems in society at large. One of the main objectives is to develop an advanced capability to do fundamental structural engineering research independently and, in so doing, promote lifelong learning.

Accredited by the Romanian Ministry of Education since 2013, the masters “Structural Engineering” are 2 years post graduate programs, with teaching and examinations entirely in English language or in the French language.
