This part-time 2-year innovative Joint Degree Master Choreography is run jointly by Codarts University of the Arts in Rotterdam and Fontys Academy of the Arts in Tilburg. The program is designed to support experienced movement makers from a variety of fields while they carry out research into questions initiated from their current practice.

The Bachelor of Arts in Dance with concentration in Performance, Choreography, and Theory is a comprehensive program of classes in technique and performance, creative process, production, history, culture, and theory. Students also have opportunities to perform in two fully produced concerts a year choreographed by faculty and guest artists, as well as in a student-choreographed, department-produced concert. The B.A. degree allows the flexibility to pursue a double major.

In the Bachelor of Fine Art in Performance and Choreography, students are guided towards greater knowledge of their artistry, through a focus on the communicative, artistic, technical and physical aspects of the crafts of dance performance and dance choreography.

As an emerging or experienced choreographer, this MFA course will help you refine your artistic practice by advancing your creative, technical and performance skills. The programme includes technique classes, choreography workshops, laboratory sessions, dialogue, writing and reflection. You will be encouraged to experiment and take risks in a series of self-directed choreographic projects that help you develop a portfolio of work.

The Master’s Programme in Choreology at HAMU is a two-year, full-time course taught in English, designed for graduates who wish to deepen their expertise in dance history, theory, and methodology. The programme provides advanced academic training in choreology, combining theoretical study, methodological practice, and research-driven approaches.

Learn to choreograph and perform at a professional level by becoming part of the largest full-time dance program specialising in contemporary dance in New Zealand. You will participate in diverse performances including solo and group work, and work commissioned works by guest choreographers. The Contemporary Dance major is the most established, full-time contemporary dance program in New Zealand, and continues to develop a community of dance artists who contribute innovative choreography and performance excellence to the industry. Unitec's dance graduates are seen in all major productions throughout New Zealand.

During MA Dance: Choreography and Professional Practices you’ll study producing for small/mid-scale touring ensuring you have all the tools you need to realise your creative projects and grow new audiences for your work. Industry collaboration and real-world learning are central to this course, so you’ll take part in workshops, participate in work-based learning and observe professional commissions, providing you with invaluable experience and networking opportunities. You’ll study in our £55 million New Adelphi building, home to multiple rehearsal studios and a theatre.

For this course, you will be exploring contemporary dance movement, choreography, and areas of performance skills.

This is a comprehensive course for the highly motivated student who has achieved proficiency in technical skills through the intermediate level, and who exhibits creativity and expressiveness in composition and performance.

The Dance Department offers artists rigorous training, freedom to experiment, and the space to create. Students develop healthy and sustainable practices necessary for working dance artists, with emphasis on technique, collaboration, choreography, and performance.

This course is a stepping stone into employment, university or dance school. You will gain the skills and knowledge to become competent, confident and innovative in your approach to your chosen career path. As part of the course, you will become part of our in-house performance company, Fleet Street Studios, leading and managing all projects.

The student will focus on teaching styles and choreography. Each student will have the opportunity to mentor with a dance faculty and learn various teaching styles. The student will also learn theatre technology and lighting design.
