Melbourne International Undergraduate Scholarships

The University of Melbourne offers international scholarships in recognition of the significant contribution made by international students to the diversity of the university’s student population, and to act as an award for excellent academic achievements.

ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to all international students that aren't citizens or residents of Australia or New Zealand. Applicants must have applied or be a current student in an eligible undergraduate degree, must not have previously undertaken any tertiary studies (excluding extension studies completed as part of a year 12 program). 

AWARD: Recipients will be awarded either a $10,000 AUD tuition fee waiver for the first year of an undergraduate degree, a 50% tuition fee waiver for the three year duration of an undergraduate degree, or a 100% tuition fee waiver for the three year duration of an undergraduate degree.

Australia Awards Scholarships

The Australia Awards Scholarships are administered by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Their aim is to contribute to the long-term development and needs of Australia’s partner countries.

ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to international students from developing countries, particularly those countries located in the Indo-Pacific region, to undertake full-time undergraduate or postgraduate study.

AWARD: Recipients will be awarded 100% tuition fee waivers, travel allowances, contribution to living expenses, text books, study materials, and health care.

Fulbright Scholarships- Australia

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program provides grants for individually designed study/research projects or for English teaching assistant programs. During their grants, Fulbrighters will meet, work, live with and learn from the people of the host country, in order to promote mutual understanding through direct engagement in the community.

ELIGIBILITY: These scholarships are open to candidates who hold an excellent academic record in their postgraduate studies, possess strong leadership skills, and have a high sense of social commitment. Further eligibility varies depending on the scholarship.

AWARD: Recipients will be awarded round trip international airfare, a monthly stipend, based on the cost of living in the host country, health insurance and assistance in the visa application process. Additional benefits depend on the scholarship.

Macquarie University's Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship

The Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship is awarded by Macquarie University to recognize the academic excellence of international students. This is a highly competitive scholarship for future students that is based on academic merit.

ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must meet the required academic and English levels for their program, achieve a minimum WAM of 65 (postgraduate applications) or a minimum ATAR of 85 (undergraduate applications), and be accepted into a Macquarie University bachelor or postgraduate program.

AWARD: Recipients will be awarded up to $10,000 AUD that will be applied towards their tuition fee.

Research Training Program Scholarships

The RTP provides block grants, on a calendar year basis, to HEPs to support students undertaking Research Doctorate and Research Masters degrees.

ELIGIBILITY: These scholarships are available to both domestic and overseas students enrolled in an accredited HDR course at an Australian HEP.

Flinders University Research Scholarships

The Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarships (AGRTPS) (International) are specifically intended to support international students in undertaking a higher degree by research at Flinders University. A limited number (up to 6) of AGRTPS are available each year, and the scholarship round is highly competitive. The AGRTPS is awarded to candidates who demonstrate outstanding aptitude for independent research.

ELIGIBILITY: The scholarship is open to students who are not citizens of Australia or New Zealand. They intend to commence full-time study for a higher degree by research in Australia for the first time and meet entry and English proficiency criteria.

AWARD: Recipients will be awarded 100% tuition fee waivers, living stipends of $33,000 AUD, health care, and allowances up to $1,485 AUD to assist with relocation and airfare costs.

University of Sydney International Scholarship

This scholarship is funded by the University of Sydney and provides tuition fees offset and stipend to high quality international postgraduate students who wish to enroll in or are currently enrolled in a research degree here.

ELIGIBILITY: The recipient must be be a commencing or enrolled international student who has an outstanding record of academic achievement and research potential and have an unconditional offer of admission or be currently enrolled in a master’s by research or PhD at the University of Sydney.

AWARD: 40,109 AUD.

WEAR & I Fashion Pioneer Scholarship University of Sydney International Scholarship

WEAR & I is passionate about fashion and would like to help students pay part of their tuition fees or provide financial support in fashion. They aim to find candidates who have their own unique insights into fashion and outfits.  

ELIGIBILITY: The scholarship is open to international students with a qualified school admission certificate from institutions in the U.S., Canada, UK, Italy, France, or Australia.  

AWARD: Recipient awards are either $500, $1000, or $1500.

Rotary Peace Fellowships

The Rotary Peace Fellowship support experienced leaders in peace and development, offering up to 50 fellowships for master's degrees annually.

ELIGIBILITY: This fellowship is open to master's degree candidates proficient in English, holding a bachelor's degree, demonstrating commitment to cross-cultural understanding and peace through achievements and service, showing leadership potential, and possessing at least three years of relevant full-time experience in peace or development work.  

AWARD: The fellowships cover tuition and fees, room and board, round-trip transportation, and internship and field-study expenses.

GyanDhan Scholarship

GyanDhan Scholarship supports Indian students wishing to pursue a 2-year postgraduate course in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand or Germany by offering a merit-based, one-time award.

ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to Indian residents with an undergrad degree from an Indian institute.

AWARD: The recipient will be awarded an INR 1 Lakh (approximately equal to 1,200 USD) one-time scholarship for postgraduate studies.

INPEX Scholarships for Japanese students

The INPEX Scholarship Foundation promotes cultural exchange by awarding Japanese students scholarships to study in Indonesia, Australia, and the UAE.

ELIGIBILITY: These scholarships are open to Japanese nationals under 35 with a Bachelor's Degree from a prestigious Japanese university. Applicants must aim to study and research cultural, social, or natural sciences in Indonesia, Australia, or the UAE.

The University of Auckland offers their International School Leaver Scholarship to reward high caliber international students who have studied at a secondary school or kura in New Zealand prior to enrolling.

ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must achieve entry to the University of Auckland with an NCEA rank score of at least 270, a CIE rank score of 330, or an IB score of at least 36, which are all equivalent to a University of Auckland entry GPE of 6.00. Applicants can not be citizens, permanent residents, nor resident visa holders of New
Zealand or Australia.
