This programme offers a comprehensive overview of common respiratory conditions, covering their diagnosis, management, and the integration of public health, community, and secondary care in service delivery. Our course provides specialised training for aspiring respiratory specialists in both primary and secondary care, catering to medical professionals and allied healthcare workers alike.

Respiratory care is a health specialty that offers a set of unique challenges in the areas of prevention, diagnosis, treatment, management, and rehabilitation of people with lung problems. This specialty is utilized in the hospital and home care situations, skilled nursing facilities, medical sales and health education. 

Respiratory Care, AS practitioners work with patients who may have a variety of lung and/or heart disorders. Although most respiratory care practitioners work in hospitals, other employment opportunities are available. There are also excellent opportunities for in-home care and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.

A key goal of this program is to prepare practitioners for the challenges of leading and delivering specialist/ advanced level respiratory care across a variety of settings. To achieve this goal, program content focuses on providing practitioners with the theoretical underpinnings, clinical exposure and competence for the development of knowledge and skills in areas of assessment and therapeutic interventions for persons with a respiratory condition.

Advanced Diploma in Respiratory Therapy is a three-year Ontario College Advanced Diploma program where students learn cardiopulmonary anatomy, chemistry, theory, pharmacology, pathophysiology, and more. This program is taught in a brand-new clinical lab by experts in the field.

The Rehabilitation Assistant program provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide safe and competent rehabilitative care to clients and their families. Rehabilitation assistants perform their duties under the supervision of a speech language pathologist, occupational therapist and/or physical therapist.
