9 Radiology Degree Programs

This course is designed to prepare the student to perform clinical examinations of the human body with special consideration to image production and analysis, quality control, radiation protection, patient care, and radiographic equipment. This program will help prepare graduates with the necessary knowledge and skills for employment opportunities in orthopedic clinics, diagnostic imaging, and hospitals.

The program consists of the following modules: Master's thesis (30 ECTS), Specialist subjects in Radiotherapy (30 ECTS), Internship in Radiotherapy (30 ECTS), and Basic subjects (30 ECTS, incl. elective subjects 6 ECTS).

In this accredited program, you’ll learn to use sophisticated imaging tools—such as X-ray, ultrasound, CT and MRI—to capture images that help doctors treat and diagnose diseases and injuries. Courses explore anatomy, physiology, positioning and radiographic techniques. You’ll also receive hands-on clinical training in local medical imaging departments.

The doctoral (Ph.D.) degree program entitled “Imaging Methods in Medicine” covers various qualitative and quantitative methods of image analysis in biology and medicine. Research and the development of new imaging techniques and procedures, as well as the analysis, processing, and interpretation of data, are also emphasized, including artificial intelligence. The degree program is closely related to molecular biology, molecular imaging, radiology, nuclear medicine, pathology, and many other fundamental and clinical fields of biomedicine. The standard length of study is four (4) years. The program is carried out without any specialization.

At Casa Loma College, our MRI associate degree program has been designed to follow the curriculum recommendations and guidelines of all of those organizations and provides graduates with the necessary eligibility requirements to qualify for examination by the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) MRI Primary Pathway Certification and Registration.

Diagnostic Medical Sonography plays a vital role in helping physicians diagnose and monitor a range of medical conditions, from pregnancy to heart disease and cancer. Sonographers use high-frequency sound waves or ultrasound to produce dynamic images of organs, tissues, or blood flow in the body.

Discover a career that helps people. As the population grows older, there will be an increase in medical conditions, such as breaks and fractures caused by osteoporosis, requiring imaging to diagnose them. More Radiologic Technologists will be needed to maintain and use the diagnostic equipment.

A Diagnostic Medical Sonography, associate degree program will prepare you to complete the certification exams to help you in your future job search. For example, upon successful completion of our DMS program, Casa Loma graduates are eligible to apply for national certification examinations of the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).

Computed Tomography (CT) Technologists are Radiologic Technologists with specialized training who use a rotating x-ray unit and sophisticated computers to obtain detailed, cross-sectional images of patient anatomy. The images can demonstrate tissue, bones, organs, and blood vessels.
