    The Covid-19 pandemic has put disaster medicine and global public health in the spotlight. Health systems are globally being overwhelmed, curative care for critically ill needs to be balanced with preventive measures including vaccinations. This course offers students tools to understand how contextual factors such as vulnerability interacts with direct and indirect effects of the disasters. It brings together expertise within global public health and disaster medicine.

    The Program is conducted as a hybrid education meaning that lectures and assignments take place both at the university and on distance. A specialist nurse has extensive nursing and medical knowledge in a specific health care area. A primary health care nurse assesses, plans, performs and evaluates the nursing process involving individuals and their experiences of health and ill health, which means identifying illness, symptoms, and functional reduction as well as self-care needs and resources for promoting health and adjustment to a changed life situation.
