The Master of Science in Health and Environment has the fundamentals of the separate disciplines within Health and Environment and the added value. You will have the possibility to pick one of these three in-depth tracks: Toxicology, Environmental Epidemiology and Exposure Science or One Health.

EPH is for those who are interested in sustainable public health and healthcare systems, but also in national and international politics, administration and management, policy and strategy, communication and media. You’ll learn to bridge the gap between public health and national and European public health policy. You’ll also develop the skills you need to work in governmental or healthcare-related organisations, or in EU or WHO units, in positions such as a policy advisor, health officer or prevention specialist.

Today's health care system faces many challenges. The new interdisciplinary two years Master PHM will train you to contribute to a more integrated health care system.

The Master of Public Health and Health Equity (MPH-HE) is a mid-career Master of Science programme, organised by KIT Institute and the VU University Amsterdam.

The program will equip you with all the training you need to pursue as a health policy maker, but careers in research will also be open to you.

This dynamic two-week course equips you with essential skills and knowledge to navigate the landscape of evidence-informed decision making in global public health. This course delves into the foundational principles of monitoring, evaluation, and learning within the frame of global public health.

The explosive availability of open source health data offers new opportunities to analyse and monitor trends in disease. It also opens new pathways to assess how effectively health systems can address these trends. Epidemiologists, health professionals and policymakers increasingly utilise new analytical techniques and software to process and analyse the growing volumes of high resolution health data.

The Global Health Summer School course focuses on health equity and complex global health issues. You will learn about healthcare systems around the world, emerging issues and global health careers. You will learn and practice qualitative research skills.

This course covers a comprehensive array of statistical methods essential for evidence-based public health responses. You will begin by learning the practical aspects of planning epidemiological field surveys, including the formulation of research questions, development of a protocol, field manuals, and the formulation of data analysis plans.

Do you want to learn how to analyze global health problems and develop solutions? Do you want to contribute to better and more equitable health for all? During the research master’s in Global Health, you will study cross-cutting aspects of health problems and healthcare systems with students from all over the world. You will explore the latest developments regarding topics such as infectious and chronic diseases, child and elderly care, and the financial burden of healthcare costs.

Do you want to help minimize the global impact of epidemic diseases or illnesses that spread after a natural disaster? Or are you driven to address the worldwide inequities in access to healthcare? This course provides knowledge and skills that healthcare managers, policymakers, and planners need for human resource planning and management. It discusses policies, strategies, and practices at a national and workplace level to address health workforce issues.

Are you interested in the basic mechanisms that underlie health and disease? Do you want to learn how to examine their occurrences and determinants in contexts such as clinical practice and healthcare policy? Are you interested in pursuing or developing your career as an epidemiological researcher or policy adviser in public health or clinical medicine? Then Epidemiology could be just the program for you.

This module puts rights at the centre of SHRH: Organising Equitable Responses and builds on contemporary evidence to critically analyse effective responses across the constituent parts of the health system and beyond. Participants critically examine synergies and efficiencies, and the trade-offs that need to be made in the process of service strengthening within and beyond the domain of SRHR.
