6 Public Health Degree Programs in Lithuania

The aim of the study MSc Public Health Education programme is to prepare specialists who are able to organise and implement the functions and activities of a public health specialist and to organise and implement non-formal education programmes and activities for children and adults based on evidence-based practice, integrating the foundations of educational science.

The degree program Lifestyle Medicine aims at training mediators who bring together the best in traditional community-focused public health with the best in person-oriented health care. These specialists will be able to help people implement the needed lifestyle changes in diet, exercise, smoking, and stress management; evaluate the risk of harmful habits and addictions; identify and assess the environmental, lifestyle, psychological, and biological health risk factors and ground priority of health strategy and policies.

The aim of this program is to prepare public health practitioners, researchers, developers, and experts of health-enhancing physical activity programs and projects as well as specialists who are able to make and develop strategies and health promotion policies. The specialists will be able to manage and pursue their activities in educational, social, public and private sectors.

Public health is the population's comprehensive physical, mental, and social well-being. During the study, public health specialists acquire leadership skills. They can analyze the population's or target groups' health status, assess demographic characteristics,  identify major health problems, contribute to disease and injury prevention and safety promotion, control outbreaks, and conduct screenings and vaccination programs.

The degree program Applied Public Health aims to provide competencies for students wishing to pursue a career in public and private health sectors as well as in non-governmental organizations. The MPH degree is the most widely recognized professional credentials for leadership in public health. The program is intended for graduates already holding a bachelor’s or master’s degree, who are seeking to broaden their understanding and knowledge in the field of public health.
