In this course, learners will integrate principles of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and pharmacology, with advanced care paramedic skills, procedures, principles of management, and equipment. Learners will use these principles to assess and manage classic presentations of cardiac, respiratory conditions, and the assessment and management of cardiac arrest.

This practice education experience occurs in the hospital and ambulance settings, where learners assess and manage classic presentations of common medical conditions and injuries under the supervision of skilled clinicians and preceptors.

In this course, learners will review, extend, and integrate the core advanced care paramedic technical and call management skills required to assess and manage classic presentations of common medical conditions and injuries in the clinical (hospital) and field practicum (on-car) settings. The hospital placement also includes a focus on obstetrics. (Formerly PARA491)

In this course includes the final clinical (hospital) placement and the learner's ambulance final preceptorship. Learners will demonstrate self-directed and reflective practice skills and habits as they adapt to practice in the field setting. The practicum will allow learners to explore their limits and challenge themselves as they move into an operational role. Learners will reflect on their own experiences regarding their leadership role and practice over the course of the program. This summative course includes a capstone project that explores the learner's journey from technician to clinician and sets the stage for continuing professional development.

Gain broad knowledge about ecological and social dimensions of environmental issues, such as climate change, food security, land conservation, water quality, and environmental justice.

This course is designed to provide information and to introduce you to many aspects of legislation, refrigeration principals, terminology, psychrometric principals of refrigeration, construction trades and fluid pumps. The course is divided into five modules, which include videos, readings and assignments. This course contains five separate modules to provide or build upon student's knowledge and base fundamentals in the refrigeration operator stream of power engineering regulated by Technical Safety BC in the Province of BC.

The program provides graduates with the knowledge and skills necessary to assist labour, management, insurance providers, employers, and employees with the development of successful work-entry or return-to-work strategies for persons with disabilities.

The 10-week Mining Industry Pre-Employment program is delivered in Regina, Saskatoon, and Yorkton. The program includes classroom training, mine site tours, life skills training, career planning, and safety tickets. Students may also complete a two-week practicum at a mine site.

After ensuring your own safety upon arriving on the scene, the first priority is a patient’s airway. If a victim cannot exchange air, all resuscitation efforts are useless. Aggressive and prompt airway management on the part of the rescuer is of paramount importance. Oxygen (O2) is a medication and, if properly used, is an excellent tool in combating shock. Annual re-certification with CPR is required to maintain current standards.
