8 Professional Degree Programs in China

The MPhil-PhD Program in Computational Social Science is designed for students who wish to pursue an academic career in the broad area of computational social science and humanities. It will train students to identify interesting and promising research topics and conduct research projects by bridging the gap between computational techniques and traditional studies in humanities and social sciences.

This course provides an opportunity at master's level for technical specialists and professional engineers who have completed either a three-year Bachelor of Technology or a four-year Bachelor of Engineering to graduate with an Engineers Australia-accredited, professional engineering qualification. The course enables students to deepen knowledge and expertise in their field of specialisation to be ready to practise in engineering. The Master of Professional Engineering is designed to incorporate an integrated approach to professional engineering practice through professional engineering subjects, major-specific subjects, an independent project, and engineering practice stream. Students who have completed a Bachelor of Engineering that is accredited by Engineers Australia should apply for the Master of Engineering (C04271) or Master of Engineering (Extension) (C04277).

In 2002, SNAI in cooperation with the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) launched the Executive MPAcc Program. The Program, which is committed to developing top-notch Chinese CFOs, is the first-degree program in SNAI and also the first MPAcc program in mainland China.

Students extend and deepen their knowledge through an appropriate research investigation under a supervisory panel with expertise in the proposed area of research. They develop critical and analytical skills, and advanced research skills to enable in-depth exploration of their chosen area, including for creative or professional practice. All students are required to successfully complete the research training coursework subject 51913 Academic Research Practice which will develop their research knowledge and skills.

The Masters Qualifying Program (Standard) is designed to help students prepare for entry into a master’s degree. It offers a pathway for those who may not meet the direct entry requirements but want to build their academic skills and confidence. The program includes coursework that covers essential concepts and knowledge across a range of disciplines, giving students a strong foundation for further studies. It’s flexible enough to suit a variety of backgrounds, and the focus is on supporting learners to develop their understanding and prepare for the demands of postgraduate study.

This course is intended for Indigenous health professionals, or others who have completed a relevant undergraduate degree and wish to pursue a career that includes research or gain a competitive advantage in their career by completing an additional postgraduate qualification. Students gain research skills and expertise in their area of research interest, and demonstrate their outstanding academic ability and commitment to their field through the completion of the degree.

The Masters Qualifying Program (Accelerated) is designed for students who want to prepare for a master's degree but need to strengthen their academic skills first. It offers a fast-track pathway that helps students develop the necessary knowledge and confidence to succeed in postgraduate study. The program combines foundational coursework with practical learning, allowing students to build a solid base in their chosen field while gaining experience in academic writing, research, and critical thinking.
