The new Master of Social Sciences program in Territorial Studies recognizes its origin, development, and evolution in the Master of Social Sciences Mention in Process Studies and Development of Regional Societies dictated since 2000 by ULAGOS. During 2019-2020 we reformulated the program, with special emphasis on redefining its lines of research, updating curricula, and strengthening its articulation with the Doctorate in Social Sciences in Territorial Studies.

The Magister in Social Sciences, Heritage Mention or Social Intervention Mention of the University of Magallanes, is a Postgraduate Program that provides academic training oriented to the sociocultural aspects of the Magallanes Region and Chilean Antarctica. Phenomena such as early settlement, cross-border migrations, cultural and natural heritage, plus the configuration of local social identities, among other manifestations that are relevant for scientific research in Social Sciences, are studied. This program integrates the study of heritage and social intervention processes, from a multi-disciplinary perspective of fundamental areas of the Social Sciences, such as anthropology, archeology, sociology, history, economics, and social work.
