This course is designed to introduce students to the key aspects of science (biology, chemistry and physics). It will equip students with vital knowledge and skills to enable them to flourish academically and personally.

Develop the knowledge and skills needed to explore the smallest and largest scales of the Universe. You’ll learn to describe, analyse, test and explain phenomena in the physical world objectively and quantitatively, using appropriate mathematical tools and experimental methods. Develop your understanding of core physics concepts and processes.

This program offers a full semester (27 ECTS credits) taught in English.

This program caters to students seeking to gain a foundational understanding of basic physics, whether to complement their primary academic pursuit or to satisfy personal interest and curiosity. It provides a comprehensive and cohesive curriculum designed to equip students with the requisite knowledge and skills, thereby preparing them for further graduate studies in physics should they choose to pursue this academic path.

An A level in Physics will introduce you to key areas of the subject that reflect its depth and range. You will consider Newtonian classical mechanics and modern cosmological phenomena, such as star formation, Hubble's law and the Big Bang theory. You will look at fields, waves and particles and the puzzling behaviour of the world of the very small. We also study some practical applications of physics, such as electric circuits and medical physics. Physics presents challenges to fascinate the inquiring mind and it is an extremely rewarding subject to study. You should be aware that it is a highly conceptual subject and not one to be taken lightly.

Physics looks at the entire universe, from clusters of galaxies to the elementary particles that make up matter. His guide is the method scientific, based on a dialectical and constant relationship between theory and experiments. There ability to move between these two levels and the ability to represent reality through models constitute the peculiar aspects of the cultural background of a physicist. It is precisely these skills that allow a person with a degree in physics to solve problems, even in apparently unrelated areas: for example, very many physicists and physicists work in the world of finance through the development of models for the economy and investments.

The IGCSE in Physics aims to impart a systematic body of scientific knowledge and skills as well as foster an appreciation of the practical nature of physics. Experimental and investigative skills based on safe, correct safe laboratory techniques will be developed. Students will also gain an appreciation of scientific methods and learn to form hypotheses and design experiments to test them.

This course is ideal for learners who enjoy Science and Maths and are considering a career in a STEM field. Throughout the course learners will look at many different areas, from Astrophysics to Particle Physics and everything in between. Physics will help you understand the world around you, it will help you develop your critical thinking skills and create a wide range of opportunities for you to progress into.

Studying Physics will give you the chance to investigate and understand some of the fundamental laws of the universe, from the tiniest particles of matter to vast star systems. We embrace both the practical and theoretical sides of physics so you'll also get involved in lots of practical experiments to put your new skills and knowledge to the test.

You will need to get at least an A in Physics GCSE and at least an A in Mathematics GCSE. During the course students will need to have the ability to communicate effectively and a grade B or above is needed in English Language. Acquire a body of physical knowledge and an appreciation of its significance. Develop experimental skills including electrical meters, Geiger counters and oscilloscopes.

You will watch video clips and use a range of textbooks, worksheets and IT skills. You will also design experiments, make measurements, present data and draw conclusions.
