An Associate in Arts degree in Dance from Skyline College provides students with a strong foundation in dance technique, performance, and artistic expression. This program prepares students to enter the dance profession or transfer to a four-year university to continue their studies in dance.

Suitable for all experience levels, our theatre summer programme offers a rich and supportive environment for students to grow in creativity, confidence and teamwork - both on and off the stage.

The diploma in Performing Arts offers a well-rounded program focused on developing students’ skills in various aspects of performance. It covers areas like acting, dance, and voice training, helping students build a solid foundation in their chosen field.

A full-time foundation pathway for international students preparing for undergraduate study in performing arts and related creative fields in Italy. The programme supports the 12-year schooling requirement and develops Italian-language, academic, cultural, creative and artistic skills.

The Associate in Arts in Dance is designed to prepare students to demonstrate competence and discipline in the study of dance technique, performance, and choreography and to demonstrate proficiency in group choreography and solo dance skills. Completing this curriculum will demonstrate commitment to the serious study of Dance in technique and choreography and provide comprehensive preparation for upper-division work. Careers for dance graduates typically include performing, teaching, art administration, choreography, dance therapy, and health and fitness specialists.

The Department of Dance offers an Associate Arts Degree in Dance that provides an extensive curriculum in dance theory and hands-on technical and experiential practice in the context of a broader education within the Liberal Arts. Our dance courses meet CSU/UC transfer requirements.

The Associate in Arts in Dance degree will prepare students for transfer into a four-year dance major, minor or performing arts program. It can also prepare students for further study in other dance-related fields including performing, dance teaching, choreography, dance science, dance therapy, dance history or dance criticism. Upon completion of the degree students should be proficient in three or more dance technique styles at the intermediate level, have a firm understanding of dance appreciation and music theory, and be competent in creating and performing dance.

The Associate of Arts Degree (AA) in Dance is designed for students planning to transfer to a four-year university to major or minor in dance. A comprehensive dance education will develop skills required to create, perform, communicate, and understand dance.

The Dance Program offers practical courses in Ballet, Modern, Jazz/Hip-Hop, Tap, Strength and Stretch / Pilates, Barre, and Choreography/Performance Production. Dance students who choose to be more involved have additional opportunities to choreograph, perform, and attend conferences such as the annual American College Dance Association conference and other outreach projects on campus and in the community.

Our program will help you develop professional practice skills, grow in your understanding and appreciation of dance as an art form, and pursue dance as a possible career choice. Essentially, we offer a conservatory approach to studying dance in a liberal arts setting, combined with professional-caliber performance opportunities.

The Theater Arts Department provides opportunities to study the art and the craft of theater. Students who enroll in the Associate in Arts in Theater Arts for Transfer degree are encouraged to develop academic and artistic skills through coursework and production opportunities, enabling them to be successful in further study or employment.

The dance program enables students to develop technical, aesthetic and artistic skills required to pursue a four-year dance degree. Courses cover major topics of dance such as ballet, modern dance, jazz dance, history, and music.

The two-year Associate of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre has US accreditation with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). This program offers a conservatory and holistic approach to musical theatre training, one that not only concentrates on a participatory performance perspective but also prepares students for a wide and exciting range of careers available in the performing arts industry.

The Theater Arts major offers the fundamental study and understanding of the theater. This allows students to develop their practical skills and talents as well as their intellectual ability to think creatively and critically.

Our Foundation Dance course is designed to give you intense training over two-terms to develop your skills and artistry in preparation to access degree level education. We will strengthen your skills in a range of different techniques while developing you as a versatile and confident performer.

The discipline of theatre arts includes theoretical and practical courses in all aspects of theatre, providing preparation in acting, directing, and technical theatre through productions. The degree program allows for a course of study that expands and increases creativity.
