29 Industrial Engineering Preparatory Programs

TCC’s Associate of Science in Civil and Mechanical Engineering Degree is a state-recognized Major Related Program (MRP) designed to provide a pathway for students who plan to transfer to a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering. Students planning to transfer to Environmental, Aeronautical or Industrial Engineering should also follow this pathway. Industrial Engineers design processes to improve efficiency by coordinating resources in production.

This program is designed to prepare the student for a career in a wide range of industries including product and industrial design firms and fabrication and manufacturing companies. Students are introduced to product development from design through prototyping and fabrication for manufacturing.

This program offers a full semester (30 ECTS credits) taught in English that includes cross-curricular courses to the different degrees taught at this school.

The Industrial Electronics Technology Program provides entry-level skills in basic core competencies desired by the industry today. This program prepares students for work in the installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical and electronic systems in industrial, scientific, and commercial facilities. The program also provides specific training in basic computer hardware and software, programmable logic controllers, motors and motor control systems, three-phase power distribution, and human-machine interface and programming. Graduates are prepared to pursue jobs in areas such as automated manufacturing, electrical power distribution, protection systems, and other electrically-related fields.

Industrial Maintenance-Millwright Technology prepares students for work in industrial mills. This is a multi-skilled trade that uses areas of fabrication, electronics, electrical systems, automation, computers, hydraulics, PLCs, and mechanical systems. Conveyor systems, power distribution, and service to all sorts of automated equipment are taught. Rigging, mechanical drive systems, installation and alignment of equipment, and pumps are taught. The Millwright program is designed to prepare graduates for entry-level employment as apprentice technicians, with emphasis on practical experience in both theory and laboratory settings using lab equipment and assemblies similar to equipment found in the industry.

This pathway is designed to meet Associate in Science Track 2 degree requirements, emphasizing mechanical, industrial, & aeronautical engineering. This pre-major pathway is designed to prepare you to transfer at the junior-level into a related engineering program at a four-year college or university.

Collège Ahuntsic was the first CEGEP in Quebec to offer the Industrial Engineering Technology program, and it is following this initiative that the implementation of this training was carried out in other colleges in the province. Our graduates help increase business productivity thanks to new production optimization technologies. In addition to the frequent visits that you will make in industries, the work-study program (ATE) allows you to carry out two paid internships of approximately three months each, a significant bonus for your CV!

Fanshawe's Mechanical Engineering Technician program is a one-year Ontario College Diploma offered at the campus in St. Thomas that provides practical, hands-on experience to educate you on highly specialized machines. Today’s machines are highly specialized and technologically advanced. They require specialized and dynamic technicians to make sure they run properly and to ensure the job gets done.

The Business and Industrial Studies Guided Pathway prepares students to utilize hands-on skills to further their career goals in high demand business and technical trades.

This 2 years 1 day per week course is designed to provide: Training for technicians in design research, development, and service support activities in Engineering, Manufacturing, and Maintenance.

CTC's Industrial Maintenance Technology program prepares graduates to work in factories, hospitals, construction industries, and more. In addition to industrial maintenance classes, students in this program take courses in electricity, machine tool, and welding.

The Industrial Systems Technology curriculum is designed to prepare or upgrade individuals to service, maintain, repair safely, or install equipment. Instruction includes theory and skill training needed for inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, and diagnosing industrial systems.

The Industrial Design Technology program is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in industrial design.
