18 Human Biology Preparatory Programs

The Human Biology Associate in Science degree provides a solid foundation in the biological sciences for students who are seeking entry to nursing and related health occupations. Completion of this degree meets all Biology and Chemistry prerequisites for admission to the LVN and LVN-RN programs and fulfills many of the lower-division requirements for a variety of baccalaureate degrees in Health Sciences. This degree is not intended for pre-medical, pre-dental, or pre-pharmacy students (see A.S. or AS-T in Biological Sciences instead).

The Human Biology major studies the relevance of social conditions to the biological sciences. Biology courses in such areas as genetics, evolution, animal behavior, anatomy, and physiology complement courses in sociology, psychology, anthropology and public health to create a major that explores humans and humanity from a variety of perspectives. Human Biology majors complete the biology portion of the major and choose one of two options for the social science portion of the major. Option 1 exposes students to Anthropology, Sociology and Psychology and asks the student to choose one of those three fields as a focus. Option 2 is focused on cross-cultural health and healing from a wide range of viewpoints.

The Summer School in Osteoarchaeology and Paleopathology is an academic program aimed at training students in anthropological and paleopathological laboratory methods. It is an outstanding opportunity for students to gain experience in bioarchaeological investigation by working side-by-side with leading researchers in the field.

As a biology major, you will engage in the scientific investigation of nature, from the molecular level to entire ecosystems, developing skills to address the challenges related to the natural world.

Biology A Level consists of lectures, discussion, fieldwork, practical work and investigations.

This A' Level Biology Course will give you the skills to make connections and associations with all living things around you. Biology is pretty much the study of life and being such a broad topic; you're bound to find a specific area of interest.

Biology is a complicated and broad science suited to those interested in living organisms, how they work and how they interact with their environment.

The Associate in Science in Biology for Transfer (AS-T) degree is designed to prepare a transfer pathway for students who plan to complete a baccalaureate degree in biology or a similar major at a California State University (CSU).

This course is a great option if you would like to study a Science subject at a higher level but don’t want to pick a single Science A-Level, or feel that a course with some coursework assessment will allow you to achieve a better outcome.

Students receiving an Associate of Science degree with an emphasis in Biology will be prepared to transfer into upper-division courses to complete a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.

The Access to Higher Education Diploma (Social Science and Health) “Biology Pathway” features 18 balanced academic study units that cover Biology alongside other Social Science and Learning skills. It’s a popular qualification, recognised by employers and many universities.

The Associate of Arts (A.A.) in Biological Sciences degree at Cleveland University-Kansas City (CUKC) offers accelerated health sciences and general education coursework students can complete in less than two years. CUKC offers courses online, on-ground, or as a hybrid. The degree requires a minimum of 60 credit hours of post‐secondary coursework. Students are required to complete a minimum of 15 credit hours at Cleveland University-Kansas City.
