In your first year of studies in the Economics and Finance program, you’ll get a broad liberal arts education that creates a strong foundation for your future studies. During your second year, you’ll have a thorough grounding in the fundamentals of economic and statistical theory, and the opportunity to investigate a wealth of options (environmental economics, labor economics, health economics, finance, policy study, game theory, public finance and more). In your third and fourth years, you’ll specialize with courses that will bring you to the leading edge of current understanding in economics, finance, or financial economics.

The "Accounting Essentials" training course provides a comprehensive introduction to bookkeeping and accounting, focusing on the fundamental principles of double-entry bookkeeping. This course is designed for individuals interested in careers in bookkeeping, clerical accounting, finance, general office work or those seeking to refresh their accounting knowledge.

This program focuses on financial, economic and administrative theory with a social context. Courses include traditional business studies as well as a strong foundation in the social sciences. Finance & Administration can be combined with a Diploma in Accounting, which will enable students to complete the 51-credit-hour requirement for the Chartered Accountancy practice and examinations.

The objective of our program is to equip successful graduates with the knowledge and skills required to function effectively in the modern computerized accounting and finance environment and also to hone and fine-tune their skills in the workplace. Typically, graduates find employment in small to medium-sized enterprises and corporate finance departments. The public sector and non-profit sector also provide many roles for the accounting assistant. More senior opportunities will exist for those with experience in related administrative and accounting areas or working on one of the recognized accounting designations.

This program is offered in Seneca's hybrid delivery format with some courses available in Seneca's flexible delivery format. Some coursework is online and some must be completed in person. Students will need to come on campus to complete in-person learning requirements.
