6 Computer Science and IT Management Preparatory Programs in Italy

The Foundation Course is a study program, taught in English and primarily aimed at candidates who do not possess the minimum schooling requirements outlined in current legislation for enrolment at Italian universities. Attendance of the Foundation Course is mandatory and students must accumulate all the credits provided by the course in order to obtain the final qualification. The modules available within the Foundation Course are taught in English and a Foundation Course in Science prepares students interested in studying a degree program in Medicine, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Maths, Natural Sciences, Pharmacy, and Physics.

The Summer School "Beyond 5G: Enabling Technologies, Opportunities and Research Challenges Ahead" is organized to offer 6 ECTS (48 hours of front lessons) in the broad field of 5G and beyond 5G (B5G) networks, targeting an audience of Bachelor (last year), Master and PhD students, early stage researchers and practitioners from Academia or Industry. The technologies, opportunities and research challenges of 5G networks will be presented and discussed during the school.

The 2026 edition of the Summer School Enabling Technologies for Industrial Internet of Things (ET-I2oT 2026) is organized to provide 6 ECTS (about 52 hours of front lessons) in the fields of Electronics, RFID, Sensors, Networking, Web of Things, SW for IoT, Computer Engineering, targeting on one side an audience of Bachelor (last year), Master and PhD students, and on the other side early stage researchers and practitioners from Academia or Industry. Both HW and SW aspects of IoT will be presented and discussed during the school.

Deep Tech startups, known for their breakthroughs in science and engineering, are attracting significant interest from investors and policymakers. The 2023 European Deep Tech Report highlights this sector as one of the most resilient in venture capital, with $15 billion invested in 2023, positioning Europe as a potential leader in Deep Tech.

These new Quantum-based systems will not replace Classical Information and Communications ones, but will be run in conjunction with them by enhancing them where Classical ones present critical weaknesses, such as the impossibility of simulating some biochemistry systems in the pharmaceutical systems, achieving nano-scale sense of physical magnitudes, solving some hard computing problems, or warranting secure communications that cannot be never deciphered by third parties.

At its 3rd edition, the summer school strives to present well-rounded analyses of the legal, business, and policy issues that arise at the intersection of law, technology, and industry. The Program introduces to the main areas of Digital Law, providing participants with insight into the field of IT Law and an appreciation of the significant role of the law in furthering the economic and technological development, and particularly in promoting innovation. Aside from the academic program and its educational value, the Summer School is significant from a cultural point of view: participants will have the opportunity to attend one of Europe’s oldest universities, to discover the authentic Venezia as well as exchange ideas and experiences in an international environment.
