International Studies Center University of Pécs Medical School offers a complex and integrated Preparatory Courses in English for Medical Studies (General Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Medical Biotechnology) that meets the language development needs of international students and facilitate their integration into the context of higher education in Hungary. International programs at Hungarian universities minimally require B2 (upper-intermediate) language level and you have to be knowledgeable in your chosen field of studies for admission.

Biotechnology Associate in Science Degree Biotechnology draws from many disciplines, including genetics, immunology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, and computer science. Recent advances in biotechnology have resulted in major contributions to the fields of medicine, pharmacy, public health, and agriculture.

The Associate in Biology Direct Transfer Agreement/Major Related Program degree is intended to prepare students to transfer to Washington’s public four-year colleges and universities and many private colleges with junior standing and the majority of the prerequisites for a Biology major completed.

This program provides students with the laboratory skills, technical knowledge, fundamental understanding, and employability skills for careers in the Biotechnology and Life Science industries. Students will experience an integrated curriculum and applied learning environment that focuses on scenarios relevant to current innovations in the growing fields of Biotechnology and Life Sciences. 

The Biotechnology degree and certificates prepare graduates for careers in the life science industry and for transfer. Students receive hands-on training in biology and chemistry and master a variety of skills essential to the field of biotechnology.

The program, therefore, focuses centrally on equipping students with an in-depth and specialized knowledge of the general principles and practical skills applicable to the Biotechnology industry.

Our Biotechnology - Advanced program prepares you with the scientific principles, techniques, and skills required in industrial microbiology and chemistry. In this applied science program, you'll also study biotechnology applications, biochemistry, microbial genetics, and clinical and environmental microbiology.

The biotechnology certificate program gives you the skills employers are looking for to develop today's products: biochemical process engineering principles, molecular biology practices, and state-of-the-art cloning and expression techniques.

The Associate of Science in Biotechnology Manufacturing Technician prepares graduates with the skills and experience to work in the biotechnology industry as a production technician. A production technician operates and maintains equipment used to manufacture protein pharmaceutical products.

The Introduction to Biotechnology: Detecting and Treating Disease course will examine the basic concepts of biotechnology and the instrumentation and techniques used in the manipulation of nucleic acids (DNA and RNA). Students will learn how biotechnology's tools and techniques are being used to help identify and fight disease, with a special emphasis on tools that help detect viral infections such as COVID-19. This course will also examine the ethical and privacy issues associated with biotechnology such as genetic testing, vaccine distribution, and gene therapy. Prerequisites: General biology & chemistry.

The contribution of computational methodologies to drug discovery is no longer a matter of dispute and the major world’s pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies use computational design tools. Computer-aided drug design comprises computational methods and resources that are used to facilitate the design and discovery of new therapeutic solutions. This summer school will cover all the main computational techniques used in drug discovery, supplying a basic level of knowledge of this research field.
