TCC’s Associate of Science in Civil and Mechanical Engineering Degree is a state-recognized Major Related Program (MRP) designed to provide a pathway for students who plan to transfer to a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering. Students planning to transfer to Environmental, Aeronautical or Industrial Engineering should also follow this pathway. Aeronautical Engineers design aircraft, satellites, spacecraft, and propulsion systems (often a subset of Mechanical Engineers).

In this program, you’ll learn to inspect, service, and repair airplanes and helicopters of all sizes. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)-approved courses provide a well-rounded education in general aviation mechanics. You’ll gain hands-on experience working with aircraft structures, engines, hydraulics, electrical wiring, flight instruments, and other aviation components and systems.

If you are more interested in the plane than the trip, the Aviation Technician - Aircraft Maintenance program is for you. It will give you the opportunity to master mechanical, electrical, electronic, and other science skills related to aircraft maintenance.

The Airframe curricula include theory and practical experience in construction, inspection, overhaul, repair, and maintenance of aircraft structures, systems, and powerplants. The program is approved by the Federal Aviation Administration. Upon completion of each course with a minimum grade of “C,” the student will be eligible to apply for the FAA examination for the Airframe and Powerplant license.

The Powerplant Certificates of Achievement curricula include theory and practical experience in construction, inspection, overhaul, repair, and maintenance of aircraft structures, systems, and powerplants. The program is approved by the Federal Aviation Administration. Upon completion of each course with a minimum grade of “C,” the student will be eligible to apply for the FAA examination for the Airframe and Powerplant license.

The Business Aviation Diploma program is for learners who are interested in pursuing a career in aviation business operations. This two-year diploma program provides students with business knowledge along with the aviation training compliant with Transport Canada standards.
