The acupuncture program at DRCOM encompasses Contemporary Oriental Medicine® that draw upon many aspects of the system, including Traditional Chinese Medicine and Five Element theories.

Course Description Acupuncture diploma program is a three years full-time program. Students will learn acupuncture concepts, herbs, TCM foundation … and other related topics. Clinic practice will also be involved in this program as an important part.

The Diploma of Acupuncture is a 3-year (6-semester) program that deeply explores theoretical and clinical concepts of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.

Recognized across Canada, the USA (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine), and China. Our flagship three-year Acupuncture Diploma program is the longest-running in Alberta and regarded as one of the world's most advanced.

The Diploma of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine is a 4-year (8-semester) program that deeply explores theoretical and clinical concepts of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.

In the first year, focus will be on the meridians and acupuncture points as well as on the needling techniques, while during the second year practical treatments of various diseases are put into attention. Students are required to write a thesis to finish their final year.

The Doctor of Acupuncture program is designed to educate and develop graduates to meet the growing need and opportunities for well-trained Chinese medical practitioners to serve in numerous types of integrative medicine settings across the country.

The DACM program is designed to train highly skilled practitioners who are capable of working successfully in the contemporary health care system — either as independent health care providers or as part of a collaborative health care team — and to provide in-depth coursework for lifelong learning and professional development.

The Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Completion Program (DACMCP) allows graduates of Masters degree programs to obtain their doctoral degree from home.

When acupuncture is an increasingly valued treatment in mainstream care for patient wellness, acupuncturists need to be equipped with the knowledge, communication, and research skills to work with other healthcare professionals effectively.

The Registered Acupuncture program ( R.Ac.) provides the graduate with professional training in Traditional Chinese Medical Acupuncture.

This course offers an introduction to the meridian system of acupuncture in Oriental medicine.

Our in-depth three year course will teach you everything you need to know to become a confident and successful practitioner. The total numbers of hours studied are 3,600, making this degree-level training. You may find that for personal reasons you need to take a study break; this is completely acceptable as long as you complete all of your modules within five years. Unlike training at a university, all of your lectures will be delivered by successful practitioners who are eager to pass their knowledge and experience on to you.

The diploma includes a variety of courses in theory, as well as diagnosis, treatment and clinical practice.

This two-year degree level course with an optional 3rd-year clinical attachment and Tuina Training is a practical professional training course to enable students to achieve high standards of competence, safety and confidence as practitioners of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
