Whether you are already working in the industry, studying acting in college, or still in high school, our four-week Summer Intensive Training programs are built to offer you the personalized training you need. Our courses in Acting for Film and Television or Musical Theatre Performance enable experienced performers to work on skill-building, and novice performers to sample the life of an actor living and working in New York City. 

The Integrated Program provides comprehensive training in acting, dance, and vocal performance. This intensive four-semester program develops skilled performing artists prepared for work within musical theatre performance. Students are immersed in multi-arts training from the very start of their program. A specified fixed curriculum helps develop strong foundations in a variety of musical styles, dance genres, and acting techniques.

The Acting for Camera Conservatory Program prepares students for careers in performing for film and media through on-camera acting training. The program is specifically responsive to the growing interest in careers in acting for film, television, and new and future media, as well as creating content for emerging platforms. Students are provided with a broad understanding of the history and current state of the film and new media industries.

Study acting for stage or screen, dance, music production, song writing, or learn to play an instrument. Learn to express yourself and perform your craft in dynamic classroom settings, stage plays, and take part in musical events. Our highly experienced faculty, each with professional experience, will guide you on your journey to a life of creativity.

The Associate of Arts in Theatre Arts offers a variety of programs of study and experience suited to the needs of serious theatre students as well as those who wish to include theatre as a part of their liberal arts education. With curricula in Acting, Design/Lighting, Costuming, and Technical Production, the program provides an intensive two-year course of study that prepares Theatre Arts majors for transfer to a four-year college or university ready to do advanced upper-division work. Students have the opportunity of working in all phases of production and performance and are encouraged to take on increasing levels of responsibility as stage managers or directors.

The Certificate of Achievement in Acting Level Two provides students with foundational knowledge in the area of script analysis, acting for theatre, and acting for the camera. No audition is required to enroll. There are a variety of career opportunities for students completing this certificate. The objective of the certificate is to demonstrate skill, experience, and education in the area of acting to promote hiring in the area of theatre, film, television, and other media platforms.

The Associate in Arts in Theatre Arts for Transfer degree is designed to prepare the student for transfer to four-year institutions of higher education and is specifically intended to satisfy lower-division requirements for a baccalaureate degree in theatre arts at a California State University.

The Associate of Occupational Studies Degree in Acting program prepares students to work in theatre, television, and film. This immersive, four-semester program offers performance-based courses in acting, voice, and movement to help actors develop a strong, connected physical presence while creating characters with rich, imaginative inner lives.

Summer at Strasberg provides students with different options to study Lee Strasberg’s acting technique. Students can either enroll in an ambitious ten-week term (part-time or full-time) or they can take shorter intensives which are designed to introduce both the experienced and inexperienced actor to Lee Strasberg’s Method.

The Associate of Occupational Studies Degree in Acting for Camera Program is specifically designed for performers interested in careers in acting for film, television, and new media. Students also develop skills for creating original content for current and emerging platforms. A broad range of historical contexts are studied to enhance students’ understanding of contemporary film and new media industries.

The Certificate of Achievement in Acting Level One is awarded to a student who has completed a beginning level series of acting and related courses in preparation for a career in theatre and related entertainment industries. This Certificate of Achievement will better prepare a student to secure a job in the professional theatre industry. Acting opportunities exist on the stage, in film, television, themed entertainment, commercials, industrials, corporate business theatre, and the video game industry. After successfully completing this certificate a student could be hired as a stage manager, actor, playwright, crew member in the film and/or television industry, production assistant, casting assistant, or general theatre technician.

The Bethany College Theatre program presents a unique preparation for professional opportunities within the Performing Arts and beyond.

The 12 Week Program is designed for both beginners wishing to explore The Lee Strasberg Method™ Acting and professionals wishing to brush up on their technique. Classes are conducted Monday through Friday (mornings, afternoons, and evenings. Students can choose between full-time or part-time options and can register again for additional 12-Week Terms. Students can also apply for classes taken in the 12-Week Full Time Program toward the One Year or Two Year Conservatory Programs if they wish to extend their training.

The One Year Conservatory follows the same course of study as the first nine months of the Two Year Conservatory (Certificate Program). This program emphasizes the fundamental aspects of The Method while ensuring a concentrated but broad-based instruction for the body and voice, as well as theatre history.
