The International Year One is a one-year (3-term) programme that offers successful students a pathway to Year 2 of undergraduate degree study. Students will typically study 3 — 4 subjects, depending on the pathway chosen or the intended progression degree, as well as English Language. As successful students can progress onto Year 2 of a related degree, the IELTS entry levels are higher than for the UFP. You can choose from subjects such as Accounting, Business Management, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Fashion Management, International Business, Law, and Marketing.

The GCSE Intensive course is designed to accommodate students who have not attained passes in at least 5 GCSEs, have moved to the UK from other countries, or had an interrupted education.

LSI/IH Portsmouth offers both full-time and part-time OET courses for Nurses and Doctors. These courses include face-to-face or online tuition with experienced and highly-qualified teachers, as well as access to self-study facilities, and daily homework.

Groups in all subjects on one-year courses tend to be dynamic and exciting with lots of interaction between students and teachers. Those aiming for places on highly competitive courses such as Law, Medicine, English, and Veterinary Science will find themselves in groups of similarly dedicated students keen to make rapid progress.

This course prepares international students for A-Levels in the UK, especially for those needing to improve their English language skills. This course is a mix of intensive English language teaching and GCSE level academic courses.

Five term courses commence in January and end in June the following year. International students who finish their academic year in December overseas can move immediately onto these courses, avoiding the need to wait until the following September to start a one or a two year course.
