The Max Planck School of Photonics (MPSP) is a top-tier interdisciplinary graduate school in Germany that provides an integrated MSc and PhD program (2-years MSc + 3-years PhD) in Photonics for excellent graduates from all over the world. In the 3-year "research phase" you conduct your doctoral project in photonics under the supervision of our MPSP Fellows at one of our 19 research institutions.

In this advanced training, managers can acquire the latest knowledge and trends in the most important areas of photonics directly from international research in a compact form.  Together with lecturers from the “Abbe-Center of Photonics” of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena, renowned scientists from the Fraunhofer Institute IOF offer their know-how in areas such as laser technologies, optical measuring systems, optical quantum technologies and optical design. 

In the Master's degree program in Optoelectronics and Photonics, the students acquire a profound knowledge base and skillset in the field of optoelectronics and photonics. The program is set up as an interdisciplinary course program with about equal parts of advanced level (Master level) courses from physics and electrical engineering and information technology.
