A qualifying candidate should show evidence of original and independent scientific work.

The purpose of the Ph.D. in Finance is to develop applied competencies and practical skills in the mastering, interpreting, understanding, and application of a topic in the broader field of finance. Through the doctoral thesis, a qualifying student would show evidence of independent and original scientific work.

The purpose of the Ph.D. in Economics is to develop advanced competencies in the mastering, interpretation, understanding, analysis, and application of economic models.

The Ph.D. in Psychology curriculum offers coursework in Psychology drawing on spiritual traditions, somatic practices, creative arts, mythology, indigenous wisdom, literary and poetic imagination, deep ecology, mystical philosophy, cultural history, and social critique. The Ph.D. program emphasize research, clinical, and cultural praxis skills as well as acquiring the knowledge base of psychology as a profession. The research coursework prepares students for the completion of an original research dissertation. The Ph.D. in Psychology is designed to meet the educational requirements for the state of California Psychologist license. The Ph.D. in Psychology also meets the educational requirements for the state of California MFT license (Board of Behavioral Sciences, Senate Bill 33, Section 4980.36, Business and Professions Code), and the state of California Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), (Senate Bill 788, Section 4999.33, Business and Professions Code), provided that fieldwork is done in accordance with BBS requirements.

The purpose of the Ph.D. in Auditing is to develop applied specialized competencies in the mastering, interpretation, understanding, analysis, and application of auditing principles in the auditing field.

The purpose of the Ph.D. in Econometrics is to develop advanced competencies in the mastering, interpretation, understanding, analysis, and application of econometric techniques.

The purpose of the Ph.D. in Employment Relations is to develop the intellectual and professional skills of the student. A qualifying student should show evidence of independent and original work in the thesis. The thesis would constitute a distinctive contribution to the knowledge of and insight into the subject discipline as well as the field of research.

The purpose of the Ph.D. in Information Management is to show through the doctoral thesis, in which the qualification finally culminates, evidence of independent and original scientific work.

The purpose of the Ph.D. in Logistics Management is to develop intellectual and specialized competencies and practical skills in the acquisition, interpretation, understanding, analysis, and application of logistics management principles.

The purpose of the Ph.D. in Transport Economics is to develop intellectual and specialized competencies and practical skills in the acquisition, interpretation, understanding, analysis, and application of transport economics, management, and regulatory principles.

The DLitt et Phil (Biblical Studies) program is a research program, comprising predominantly theoretical work, and normally does not require work-based learning or vocational training. The Doctoral program is by nature an advanced specialization in either OT or NT (or both), building on the specialization level already reached on the Master’s level.
