We have four Doctoral supervisors with a diverse range of expertise, including clinical social work, community development, developmental research, econometrics, gender-based violence management, occupational social work, poverty, resilience, social development, social policy, social security, and youth transitions.

PhD by research via Distance Learning is awarded after successfully completing a theoretical research specialization. This research is presented in the form of a doctoral thesis. The PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) is the only doctoral degree that can be achieved through distance learning. The main requirement for a PhD online through distance learning is to present and discuss a thesis of at least 100 pages for review and evaluation by an academic committee at Selinus University. Sociology is the systematic study of human society. This programme places special emphasis on understanding the fundamental concepts of sociology and key social structures such as family, religion, education, science and technology, and economic and political institutions. The notion of culture, personality and personality development, role and status, as well as social order, control, class and mobility should be presented and analysed in the research thesis. The programme should also address the theories and processes of socio-cultural change.

The Public and Social Policy (PSP) doctoral study program prepares students for basic and applied research and teaching in academia as well as other types of activities requiring a high level of theoretical and methodological education in PSP. The Sociology and Methodology of Social Research doctoral programme offers a theoretical-analytical and technical-methodological preparation rooted in an excellent tradition of international research on empirical sociology. It aims to train researchers in the analysis of current processes of cultural and social change based on the close integration of theory and empirical research. The programme aims to provide a solid theoretical-conceptual preparation along with mastery of the most up-to-date research methodologies and techniques, both quantitative and qualitative.

The Economic Sociology, Organisation and Labour (ESOL) PhD course aims to train PhDs with high-level skills from different disciplinary backgrounds that are essential to the study, management and regulation of economic, organisational and labour phenomena. The training is characterised by a strongly interdisciplinary approach, in which economic sociology is complemented by the contributions of labour law, economic-statistical and organisational-business disciplines, and behavioural sciences.
