The doctoral (Ph.D.) degree program entitled „Imaging Methods in Medicine“ covers various qualitative and quantitative methods of image analysis in biology and medicine. Research and the development of new imaging techniques and procedures, as well as the analysis, processing, and interpretation of data, are also emphasized. The degree program is closely related to molecular biology, molecular imaging, radiology, nuclear medicine, pathology, and many other fundamental and clinical fields of biomedicine. The standard length of study is three years.

The degree program is closely related to molecular biology, molecular imaging, radiology, nuclear medicine, pathology, and many other fundamental and clinical fields of biomedicine. The standard length of study is four (4) years. The program is carried out without any specialization.

Imaging science is paying attention to the diagnostic and therapeutic application of the imaging methods of radiology and also nuclear medicine. Imaging is cooperating with other basic medicine disciplines very closely. The absolvent of the doctor studying program imaging science in medicine acquires the scientific erudition based on the combination of theoretical study, clinical practice, and scientific work in the concrete scientific-research assignment. The theoretical part of the study includes the whole range of the discipline (the insolvent reaches detailed knowledge of the problems related to the dissertation work and knowledge of the other parts of radiology on the level of the specialization examination at a minimum). Theoretical education is completed with mandatory and voluntary specialized courses and research fellowships. The clinical part is done at the imaging department according to the topic of the dissertation work. The scientific-research part is based on the solving of the concrete assignment and on the publication of the research results. During the completing the research assignment, the absolvent is learned to work indecently on a scientific project, to create theses, to study literature, to verify hypotheses on the selected sample, to interpret results, and to publish them in scientific journals and during congresses. The study is finished by the state examination and the defense of the dissertation work. The successful absolvent reaches the scientific degree of Ph.D., Study program without specialization.

The purpose of the Ph.D. (Health Sciences) is to promote the career advancement of students in the area of Health Sciences by enabling students to conduct independent, novel research within a specific discipline or in a multidisciplinary manner in Health Sciences that will contribute to the knowledge and practice in the area of Health Sciences.

The aim of the presented doctoral study program is to prepare graduates of medical, pharmaceutical and scientific faculties for work in the field of Military Radiobiology. To provide students with advanced laboratory technologies in the fields of hematology, flow cytometry, histology and molecular biology, which are necessary for the analysis of changes in the organism after interaction with ionizing radiation in in vitro or in vivo studies.
