The recently created Doctoral Program in Business and Economics of the University of Aveiro, with three branches of specialization - Economics, Management and Finance - responds to the requests of researchers and graduates to continue their doctoral studies in these areas of knowledge, tackling a gap that exists not only in the context of the doctoral programs of the University of Aveiro, but also, due to its differential nature, in the context of the education Programs in these areas in Portugal.

The Management PhD is a very rigorous, comprehensive and flexible program. Comprised of seven different specialization fields, our PhD is ideal to those who wish to obtain a major training in Management and a more focused approach on another scientific field of their choice.

The Doctoral Program Do*Mar - Marine Science, Technology and Management is a joint international PhD offered by the Universities of Aveiro, Minho, Trás-os-Montes-e-Alto-Douro, Porto, Vigo, Santiago de Compostela and Coruña, with the collaboration of CSIC - Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, the Instituto Español de Oceanografía, the University of St. Andrews, the Station Biologique de Roscof and the Institute of Oceanography of the University of S. Paulo as host partners.

The Ph.D. Program in Applied Mathematics for Economics and Management is designed to meet the needs of those who wish to enhance their knowledge of mathematical methods and techniques in order to make original contributions in a particular field or to develop and implement solutions for problems in the areas of Economics and Management.

The Doctoral Program in Industrial Engineering and Management (DPMIEM) is directed to holders of a master’s degree, second cycle or equivalent, or those who have a scientific or professional curriculum recognized as relevant and appropriate, with a strong background in areas related to Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM) or other related areas. It intends to provide the knowledge, approaches and the maturity necessary for the production of scientific contributions relevant to the area of MIE, involving the analysis, design and control of integrated systems that support people, material flows and data / information in business processes 'intra' and 'inter' organizations. The curricular component courses aim to provide a set of skills related to the main techniques and tools of IEM. With the elaboration of the thesis the intention is to promote the development of an original work that could contribute to the research projects in the proposed field.

This Ph.D. program in Management will be particularly interesting both for those who wish to pursue advanced research careers or projects in public or private institutions or want to pursue their careers as teachers in higher education institutions or research centers.

The Doctorate in Business innovation (DBI) results from the request of a group of companies and the willingness of the University of Aveiro to offer an international postgraduate training at the doctoral level in a business environment, with a global vision and multi-year planning. The DBI should solve the problems and reinvent complex and multidisciplinary business processes.

This PhD embraces multiple fields of knowledge in the management sciences, such as Marketing, Finance, Logistics and Operations Management, Information Systems, Human Resource Management and Strategy.

The PhD in Management at the University of Évora is one of the oldest PhD programs in this scientific area in Portugal. The program is intended for those who want to pursue an academic career or do research either in public or private institutions, or those who want to pursue top management careers. The program provides solid training in the various fields of management and aims to deepen knowledge and develop research skills in management.
