University of Lodz Doctoral School of Humanities provides support and guidance to those seeking a PhD in Humanities that prepare dissertations in the following disciplines: Archaeology, History, Philosophy, Linguistics, Literary studies, Cultural and religious studies, Art Studies, Ethnology, and cultural anthropology (since the academic year 2024/2025).

NTU's School of Humanities (SoH) is home to six major programmes: Art History, Chinese, English, Linguistics & Multilingual Studies, History and Philosophy. The School offers Graduate Research Degrees in all of these disciplines.

Digital Humanities is an interdisciplinary subject area that brings a range of computational, quantitative, and other innovative and collaborative methods to the study of texts, images, histories, languages, and cultures, while also being critical of methodology, disciplinarity, and pedagogy.

The Humanities and Social Sciences doctoral programme is a joint programme for all of the social science and humanities subjects offered by the Faculty of Social Sciences and Faculty of Arts, in collaboration with the Faculty of Social Work, the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television, the Academy of Music, the Faculty of Theology, and the Academy of Fine Arts and Design. The programme emphasises the connection between study and research, cooperation among institutions, the European mobility of students and teachers, and the development of interdisciplinary and innovative approaches to study and research.

PhD in research via Distance Learning is awarded after successfully completing a theoretical research specialization. This research is presented in the form of a doctoral thesis. The PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) is the only doctoral degree that can be achieved through distance learning. The main requirement for a PhD online through distance learning is to present and discuss a thesis of at least 100 pages for review and evaluation by an academic committee at Selinus University.
