University of Lodz Doctoral School of Humanities provides support and guidance to those seeking a PhD in Humanities that prepare dissertations in the following disciplines: Archaeology, History, Philosophy, Linguistics, Literary studies, Cultural and religious studies, Art Studies, Ethnology, and cultural anthropology (since the academic year 2024/2025).

NTU's School of Humanities (SoH) is home to six major programmes: Art History, Chinese, English, Linguistics & Multilingual Studies, History and Philosophy. The School offers Graduate Research Degrees in all of these disciplines.

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences offers graduate programs leading to the Master of Arts degree in the Departments of Behavioral Sciences, Bible and Ancient Near-Eastern Studies, Hebrew Language, Hebrew Literature, History, and Philosophy.

In Research Degrees (PhD/MPhil) in Global Studies the Centre for International Studies and Diplomacy (CISD) welcomes applications from prospective MPhil/PhD students wishing to undertake multi-disciplinary research in areas of global studies that relate to the research interests of Centre members and the Centre’s research programmes.

Digital Humanities is an interdisciplinary subject area that brings a range of computational, quantitative, and other innovative and collaborative methods to the study of texts, images, histories, languages, and cultures, while also being critical of methodology, disciplinarity, and pedagogy.

The PhD programme offers interdisciplinary and research-based studies, integrating linguistics, literary studies, folklore and theatre studies. Although the main task of the programme is the preservation and enhancement of national culture and science by preparing highly qualified researchers and specialists for researching the Latvian language, literature, folklore, theatre history and theory, the programme is also designed for aspiring specialists in other languages and cultures to enable postgraduate students to build their teaching and research careers at higher educational institutions and elsewhere.

The MPhil/PhD in Translation Studies is a research training programme which combines foundational and advanced training in the core areas of translation studies, research methods and research work leading to a thesis. The Department is strongly research-oriented, and through a combination of courses, advanced seminars and individual supervision, aims to provide the intellectual discipline, knowledge and skills required of a well-rounded researcher.

The SOAS Centre for Cultural, Literary and Postcolonial Studies (CCLPS) welcomes applications from MPhil/PhD students wishing to undertake research in the disciplines of Comparative Literature, Cultural Studies and Postcolonial Studies. The Centre has developed its own MPhil training programme which will enable research students to be registered in the Centre rather than in specific regional Departments or those of other disciplines.

The PhD studies in Communication and Information organized at Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) in Kaunas (Lithuania) aims to address the pressing issues in the contemporary and dynamically evolving field of media and communications, which is shaped by politico-economic, sociocultural, and technological factors, and explores media-infused societal transformations and communicative impact on individual, groups, and social dimensions.

The PhD in Cultural Systems - Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies constitutes a unique multidisciplinary environment. It trains students to undertake cutting-edge research in the many scientific fields related to cultural systems and to operate as high-level cultural heritage professionals.

Research Degrees (MPhil/PhD) in Japanese and Korean Studies is able to supervise MPhil and PhD degrees by research and thesis in a wide range of cultural and linguistic subjects.
