Our program offers numerous benefits to help position our students for future success. All of our PhD students are fully funded, including tuition remission and stipend, for up to five years through teaching and research assistantships or competitive fellowships.  Many of our students participate in internships that offer real-world experience and networking opportunities in industry, policy analysis and consulting.

The Pharmaceutical & Translational Sciences (PHTS) Program brings together, under one umbrella, the school’s three laboratory-based PhD programs—CXPT, MPTX, PSCI. This promotes a more cohesive interdisciplinary experience advancing education and offering opportunities to sample the entire range of innovative research options.

The Ph.D. in Psychology curriculum offers coursework in Psychology drawing on spiritual traditions, somatic practices, creative arts, mythology, indigenous wisdom, literary and poetic imagination, deep ecology, mystical philosophy, cultural history, and social critique. The Ph.D. program emphasize research, clinical, and cultural praxis skills as well as acquiring the knowledge base of psychology as a profession. The research coursework prepares students for the completion of an original research dissertation. The Ph.D. in Psychology is designed to meet the educational requirements for the state of California Psychologist license. The Ph.D. in Psychology also meets the educational requirements for the state of California MFT license (Board of Behavioral Sciences, Senate Bill 33, Section 4980.36, Business and Professions Code), and the state of California Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), (Senate Bill 788, Section 4999.33, Business and Professions Code), provided that fieldwork is done in accordance with BBS requirements.

The PsyD in Clinical Psychology curriculum offers innovative coursework in Psychology to prepare students for professional practice, including core, clinical, and research courses. The core curriculum provides a foundation for the clinical and research courses, supporting the student’s evolving relationship to clinical engagement.

Our undergraduate program in Biopharmaceutical Sciences prepares you for graduate work in pharmacy, medicine, dentistry, biomedical engineering, business, finance and law. Through innovative coursework and independent research opportunities, the program instills you with skills in pharmaceutical sciences, business, marketing, product development and lifecycle, and medical product development and use. You’ll leave the program positioned for employment at leading research universities and in industry, government or any research-centric arena.

Our Ph.D. in Biokinesiology — ranked 12th in the nation by the National Academy of Kinesiology — prepares you with the advanced skills needed to become a productive research scientist in Biokinesiology in an academic or corporate setting. USC’s Biokinesiology Ph.D. graduates conduct collaborative, interdisciplinary research and become leading scholars and innovators in the field.

Students learn about the physiology of human development and aging, examining social policies related to aging as well as the psychological, behavioral, and sociological impact on lifespan development. Working closely with a faculty mentor, they concentrate on a specific area of interest and begin the process of discovering and shaping their own academic specialization.

The doctoral program in the Biology of Aging is designed for students who want to become leaders in biogerontology. The focus is on molecular, cellular, and regenerative medicine as well as the integrative biology of aging.

The residential Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program at the USC Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy has a long history of exceeding the minimum required educational preparation for individuals pursuing a professional career as a physical therapist. The first school to offer a master’s and a Ph.D. degree in physical therapy, USC was also a leader in graduating the first DPT class in the United States.

The doctor of philosophy in epidemiology is designed to produce an epidemiologist with in depth knowledge of methodology and analytic skills.

Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) Emphasis in Organizational Management and Consulting Mission Statement Committed to lifelong learning, we educate and develop effective and ethical organizational consultants and leaders by providing meaningful classroom, field, and independent learning experiences, skills, and tools. Phillips Graduate University’s Organizational Management and Consulting Program (OMC) is designed to develop or enhance the personal and professional skills of consultants, managers, and leaders. Organizations large and small, for-profit and non-profit, increasingly engage people with behavioral science education and training to address a wide range of human systems-related issues in the workplace. The application of psychology to business is a booming and expanding field, and the focus of Phillips’ program is to educate and train leaders and consultants to meet the challenges of organizations in the 21st century. Building on three (3) decades of research and experience in human relations, the OMC program integrates research in human behavior with contemporary business practice.

Pepperdine University employs the practitioner-scholar model of doctoral training in which academics, clinical training, and research are conjoined. This rigorous program consists of three years of clinically relevant coursework and supervised clinical training, followed by one year of internship and completion of a clinical dissertation. After completing postdoctoral clinical training, graduates will be eligible to be examined for licensure as psychologists throughout the United States and Canada.
