The program aims to continue with the quality training of researchers in the field of the molecular bases of human diseases. Research in human health is a priority axis of the different knowledge management and innovation programs, both at the regional, state and European level.

This program was created with the purpose of responding to a series of training, scientific and research needs that are found in the Galician University System (SUG). The Doctoral Program promotes studies at the postgraduate level and promotes research training for students in the field of Health Sciences and specifically in the field of Dentistry.

This doctoral program is interuniversity in nature and involves researchers from the universities of A Coruña and Santiago de Compostela. Researchers from the universities of Barcelona, Oviedo and Valencia, as well as the Matia Gerontological Institute (INGEMA) are also integrated into their teams.

In this sense, it is configured as a cycle of studies that aggregates different disciplinary areas, seeking to capitalize on their similarities, but also their differences, in an approach focused on complementarities, which are assumed to be fundamental for understanding a multidimensional phenomenon such as demographic aging and longevity.

This doctoral program aims to train researchers in the areas of Basic and Applied Neuroscience, Clinical Psychology and Psychiatry, prioritizing interdisciplinarity. With this perspective, the program includes researchers assigned to different areas of knowledge in the fields of Neurobiology, Cognitive Neuroscience, Clinical and Health Psychology and Psychiatry. It is an interuniversity program, jointly organized by the Universities of Santiago de Compostela (which coordinates it), A Coruña and Vigo.

The implementation of a Doctorate program in Psychology arises as a proposal of the Department of Social, Basic and Methodological Psychology of the USC to the need to have a mechanism for the training of PhDs in Social and Behavioral Sciences within the Galician University System.

The main objective of the Program is to contribute to the increase of both the number of researchers in endocrinology with a strong translational component, including both doctors and graduates in other biosanitary branches such as Biology, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, etc.

The Doctoral Program in Psychology at Universidad Loyola aims to present in depth the methods, processes and procedures of statistical analysis in the field of psychology with the aim of training researchers in this field of knowledge, as well as stimulating the generation and development of applied knowledge that can be transferred to society in its different expressions.
