Color science research at RIT encompasses such diverse fields as medical data visualization, computer graphics and animation, art conservation, spectral and spatial measurements of materials, color printing, digital photography, motion picture and television, and modeling of our perceptions for use in defining color quality.

The mission of the Applied Science & Technology Ph.D. program is to prepare students for high-level science and technology careers in industry, research, and government. The Global Urban Studies track in the joint Urban Systems Ph.D. program (with NJIT) builds policy-oriented, interdisciplinary, and global knowledge about cities through innovative curriculum and research grounded in the social sciences. It features collaborative scholarship with community partners in the Greater Newark metro area and cities around the world. The goal of the PhD degree in the Atmospheric Sciences Graduate program is to prepare and educate students in critical thinking, resulting in innovative ideas that can advance our understanding and knowledge of the earth-atmosphere system in terms of process studies, modelling, and instrumentation.

The Epidemiology PhD program provides advanced professional training in epidemiology to develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for leadership in epidemiologic research and methodology. CGU’s Institute of Mathematical Sciences (IMS) trains scientists in fundamental areas of mathematics and develops expertise in specialized areas of interest.

The doctoral program in Audiology at the Graduate Center leads students to the Au.D. degree, awarded by the Graduate Center in collaboration with Brooklyn College and Hunter College. Earlier this year, The CUNY Board of Trustees approved the transfer of the degree granting authority from the Graduate Center to Brooklyn College. The administrative move of the program is pending approvals and the timeline for the transition is not known. There will be no change in faculty, clinical sites, or curriculum.
