The Doctoral Program in Artistic Creation (PDCA) is a doctoral Program of the University of Aveiro (UA) in association with the Polytechnic Institutes of Leiria and Porto. The Doctoral School of the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław is an artistic and research unit, that educates people with significant artistic achievements and high research potential. The doctoral program lasts 6 semesters and enables one to obtain advanced knowledge and skills. It is a preparation for receiving a Ph.D. degree in the field of art in the discipline of fine arts and art conservation.

The Graduate School of Fine Arts has a single doctoral degree program, the Fine Art program that enables interdisciplinary and multimedia researches in five areas of study. The program revolves around creating works and writing theses to receive a doctorate. During the three-year program, students will be instructed for their studies by the Doctoral Program Committee, an organization consisting of faculty members in charge of the program. The Graduate School of Fine Arts will make a continuous effort to strengthen its system to cope with advanced and interdisciplinary researches and actively contribute to the local community and society.

In addition to expanding the theoretical-practical-methodological knowledge of academic research in/about art in an interdisciplinary perspective between the various arts and other areas of knowledge, the doctoral course in Arts, from the School of Fine Arts at Universidade Federal De Minas Gerais, contributes to the qualification of personnel at a higher level working in universities and higher institutes in the field of art through interinstitutional doctorates and for the dissemination of research carried out in the Postgraduate Program in Arts by teachers and students, creating channels of dialogue between this production and thought and practice in art in Brazil and abroad.
