The primary aim in our doctoral school is to train scientists who can continue their creative scientific work related to leading fields of chemistry and environmental sciences after completion of their MSc studies. The doctoral school was established in 2000 as the highest level of education in chemistry and environmental sciences at the University of Pannonia. Since then, more than 125 degrees have been granted.

The International PhD Program in Agricultural and Environmental Sciences of the Department of Agriculture, Food, Environment and Forestry (DAGRI) combines expertise from many disciplines in the agro-environmental field aimed at training researchers, enabling them to carry out qualified scientific activities in the field of plant and animal production, considering also aspects of eco-sustainability, climate change and recovery of polluted and degraded areas in order to restore their agricultural cultivation capabilities.

The Environmental Sciences and Policy Doctoral Program* provides a unique opportunity to pursue fundamental and applied research to address some of the most urgent environmental challenges in the world. Our graduates emerge from the Program with a broad understanding of diverse approaches to environmental problems, extensive practical research experience, professional networks and analytical and practical thinking skills with a commitment and capacity to addressing environmental challenges.

This environmental science program studies the physical, chemical, and biological processes that take place on Earth, as well as the social, political, and cultural processes that impact the planet.

The Doctorate of Environmental Science (BS) program helps students develop practical skills and knowledge required to critically evaluate environmental problems and issues, and provide applied solutions.

The Doctoral Program in Environmental Science and Engineering at the UA aims to produce highly trained professionals who are qualified to carry out autonomous research in the field of Environmental Science and Engineering, and thus respond to the recruitment needs of the academic and business sectors and public institutions.

The Ph.D. in agricultural and environmental sciences program at N.C. A&T teaches students about the complexities of our global food system and how to adapt to emerging challenges around food, energy, and water. This program prepares individuals for successful careers as researchers, faculty, and entrepreneurs and to be active and effective leaders in academia and the agriculture industry in both the public and private sectors. Our doctoral graduates will confront the grand challenges of providing and sustaining a safe and healthy supply of food, fiber, and other products for a burgeoning global population.

The NTU ASE PhD program is 4 years. Besides working on their research, students from the AY2020 Sem 1 intake onwards are required to complete 18 Academic Units of classes during their PhD, which roughly translates to around six courses. After completing a qualifying examination in their third semester, they focus on completing their doctoral project, working closely with a faculty advisor. 

We offer PhD and MS degrees in 6 programs: Atmospheric Sciences, Marine Biology & Ecology, Environmental Science & Policy, Marine Geosciences, Meteorology & Physical Oceanography, and Ocean Sciences. We offer highly competitive stipend rates, tuition, and health insurance coverage for our incoming PhD students as part of a fully-funded 5-year Graduate Assistantship. Finally, as part of our revitalized connections across colleges and to take advantage of our unique research facilities, we offer an MS degree in both Ocean Engineering and Sustainable Business. The Albert Katz International School for Desert Studies, which offers programs leading to Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Desert Studies, and Hydrology & Water Technologies. These multi-disciplinary research areas have emerged in response to the lack of science-based responses to the urgent needs of humanity.

EUCLID (Pôle Universitaire Euclide | Euclid University), an international intergovernmental organization with university mandate, offers to intergovernmental and national civil servants (as well as select students from the general public) a specialized external degree program called the EUCLID Online Ph.D. in Climate Change and Sustainability (DCCS).
