CERGE-EI (Center for Economic Research and Graduate Education - Economics Institute) is a joint workplace of Charles University and the Economics Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences.

The doctoral programme in PhD in Economics welcomes all qualified applicants with Master´s degrees who have a strong interest in economic theory, econometric modelling and applied economics. Graduates will be equipped with advanced knowledge of the history of economics, micro- and macroeconomics, international economics, and economic policy, and also important research skills for becoming a successful researcher.

The Ph.D. program concentrates on economic theory and its applications in economic and financial analyses. The program focuses on the modeling and analyses of economic processes and the behavior of economic agents, using modern microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, econometrics, and finance. The doctoral program aims to prepare highly qualified and trained experts for academia, international organizations, the financial sector as well as other industries.

The doctoral study program in Economics and Management is aimed at educating professionals who are able to carry out internationally competitive research on real and current problems in areas related to business administration and management. The students acquire high-level expertise in qualitative and quantitative methods of economic analysis, economics and financial markets, modern research methods and business management.

PhD in Economy Management in Economy and Management allows by its structure and content focus to link to the knowledge gained from a master's degree.
