This doctoral program is interuniversity in nature and involves researchers from the universities of A Coruña and Santiago de Compostela. Researchers from the universities of Barcelona, Oviedo and Valencia, as well as the Matia Gerontological Institute (INGEMA) are also integrated into their teams.

The Ph.D. program in Psychology is an experimental psychology program that prepares students for leadership roles in research and teaching. Our program offers training in developmental, cognitive, and social/personality psychology with an emphasis on interdisciplinary research and tailored training experiences that adapt to the specific needs of each student.

This program takes an integral, transpersonal approach to psychology. It proposes an innovative way of learning and thinking, which goes beyond the basic structures of the rational mind to include the larger environment. It emphasizes the interconnections between all aspects of reality and focuses on deep empathy that relates to the experiences of all people.

In the Human Development and Family Science (HDFS) Ph.D. program, we train students to become the next generation of scholars, university faculty, and researchers. Our graduates have successfully obtained positions of their choice in some of the nation’s leading academic institutions.
