The purpose of the Ph.D. in Construction Management is to develop an intellectual with advanced abilities in applying construction engineering management with other related inter-disciplinary principles, in order to address construction management-related problems within the sector.

The Engineering Doctorate (EngD) in Construction combines advanced technical and management training with PhD level research in partnership with an industry partner/sponsor. Research projects will be directly relevant to the strategic plans of your industry partner and cover a wide range of topics in the interrelated, and globally critical areas of construction and engineering.

This programme describes the work carried out by all professional groups (Architects, Engineers, Construction Managers, Suppliers and Material Sellers, etc.). In addition, it examines the resources (money, machinery, materials and human resources) needed to carry out a construction project. Issues related to budget estimation, cost control and progress analysis of construction operations are discussed.

The Civil and Environmental Engineering PhD (CENE PhD) degree program provides opportunities for students to gain expertise in a broad range of research areas that support state initiatives, closely tie to campus research thrusts, and align with federal funding sources such as NSF, DoE, DoD, USDA and NASA. Doctoral students work with faculty advisors mentors to develop personalized programs of study and make significant contributions to the Civil and Environmental Engineering body of knowledge through their research.
