The two-year Associate of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre has US accreditation with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). This program offers a conservatory and holistic approach to musical theatre training, one that not only concentrates on a participatory performance perspective but also prepares students for a wide and exciting range of careers available in the performing arts industry.

The Dance Program offers practical courses in Ballet, Modern, Jazz/Hip-Hop, Tap, Strength and Stretch / Pilates, Barre, and Choreography/Performance Production. Dance students who choose to be more involved have additional opportunities to choreograph, perform, and attend conferences such as the annual American College Dance Association conference and other outreach projects on campus and in the community.

The Master's in Stage Design and Artistic Direction uniquely combines stage design with artistic direction. This program delves into the diverse specializations within the world of theater, dance, performance, film, and advertising, providing a solid and versatile foundation for professional development.

A practice-based, research-oriented Master’s major in Costume Design for Performing Arts and Film. Taught in English, the programme (120 ECTS) develops students' personal artistic vision, advanced costume design skills and professional competence for live performance, film and media. Emphasis is placed on collaboration, time and budget management, and participation in international events and projects.

The diploma in Performing Arts offers a well-rounded program focused on developing students’ skills in various aspects of performance. It covers areas like acting, dance, and voice training, helping students build a solid foundation in their chosen field.

The Theatre Arts Option offers courses in the field of acting and directing, design and technical theatre, theatre history, dramatic literature, speech, and drama for the classroom. The Dance Option offers courses in the fields of ballet, modern, jazz, and tap; dances of world cultures to include Hip Hop, Ballroom, Middle Eastern Dance, African Dance, and Latin Social Dance; choreography; dance history; and dance production. Course requirements for theatre and dance in the major and minor programs provide for flexibility and allow students considerable choice in planning their academic careers.

The Associate in Arts in Dance is designed to prepare students to demonstrate competence and discipline in the study of dance technique, performance, and choreography and to demonstrate proficiency in group choreography and solo dance skills. Completing this curriculum will demonstrate commitment to the serious study of Dance in technique and choreography and provide comprehensive preparation for upper-division work. Careers for dance graduates typically include performing, teaching, art administration, choreography, dance therapy, and health and fitness specialists.

The Department of Dance offers an Associate Arts Degree in Dance that provides an extensive curriculum in dance theory and hands-on technical and experiential practice in the context of a broader education within the Liberal Arts. Our dance courses meet CSU/UC transfer requirements.

The Associate in Arts in Dance degree will prepare students for transfer into a four-year dance major, minor or performing arts program. Upon completion of the degree students should be proficient in three or more dance technique styles at the intermediate level, have a firm understanding of dance appreciation and music theory, and be competent in creating and performing dance.

The Drama and Theater Programme is among other programs that are offered at the Department of Performing Arts and Production Technology, Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts. The vision of this program is to strive towards a teaching, learning and research center for Drama and Theatre studies in Borneo that focuses on local performing arts.
