Uxbridge is a large town, with a population of 26 thousand in Greater London. It is home to the main campus of Uxbridge College, Brunel University and the Buckinghamshire New University's nursing campus.

Students entering a program of sustainability may be instructed in renewable energy sources and the impact of unchecked waste on the environment. Instruction in data evaluation and process assessment may occur, preparing individuals to assist their industry or employer with green energy choices.
