The University Master's Degree in Ophthalmic Nursing is a proposal from the University of Valladolid that arises from the need to train nursing staff in the ophthalmic field. The new Law on Nursing Specialities regulates the training in different areas in which nursing has a predominant role, and therefore there is an evident need for specialised training in ophthalmic nursing to cover one of the fields of specialisation in demand in society in the social sciences. The University Master's Degree in Research in Vision Sciences (MICCV) is an inter-university degree, aimed at university research and teaching training, which is the first step towards a doctoral thesis. It offers comprehensive training in Vision Sciences, combining biomedical, physical-optical and neurophysiological aspects, as well as the essential prior preparation for a future scientific researcher and university teacher. The Institute of Applied Ophthalmobiology (IOBA), of the University of Valladolid, is responsible for the academic coordination of this master's degree, in which the Universities of Alcalá, Complutense de Madrid, Murcia and Santiago de Compostela also participate.
