6 Natural Sciences Degree Programs in Croatia

The Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry at the University of Zagreb offers an integrated 5-year undergraduate-plus-master program in Pharmacy (in Croatian and English) and Medical Biochemistry (in Croatian). Upon graduation, students earn the University Master of Pharmacy degree, which qualifies them as licensed healthcare professionals within the EU/EEA.

Built on existing strong minerals exploration MSc programs, TIMREX is a joint master’s degree in mineral exploration with add-on innovation and entrepreneurship skills. The program has a strong emphasis on field activities and the application of innovative exploration techniques and solutions is the specialty of TIMREX among the EIT-Labelled master programs. Intensive fieldwork is expected from the students during the summer period between the first and second years of study. Students will develop their entrepreneurship, innovative and socio-civic skills, with strong support from industrial and research partners.

Discrete mathematics is the branch of mathematics dealing with discrete mathematical structures, i.e. mathematical structures over countable sets (finite sets or sets with the same cardinality as the natural numbers). Topics in discrete mathematics, among others, include combinatorics, graph theory, coding theory, and cryptography.

The modern world is characterized by exponential growth in amount of data captured from various data sources. Collection, storage, and processing of data are central elements of present-day commerce and science, with rapid adoption in areas ranging from business analytics and marketing to computer vision and natural language processing. They all rely on advanced algorithms, models, computing methods, and efficient and scalable computer systems - all encompassed under the Computing master study programme.

Bachelor study programme Computing develops competencies to analyze and solve various engineering problems, to work as an efficient member of a team, and to contribute to design of systems and processes in the area of computing. The fundamental knowledge of mathematics, physics and electrical engineering is backed up with usage of contemporary computer tools.

Within this programme, the students shall acquire specific education in applied geography. Thereby they shall acquire a balanced ratio of knowledge and skills, i.e. competencies, related to new trends in the society and economy.
